The standard conversion rules for running shoes:
Important caveat: these are approximate conversions. EU sizing in particular varies between brands — some brands use 44 and others 44.5 for the same US 10. Always check the specific brand's size chart rather than relying on conversion rules alone.
These notes reflect general industry knowledge about how each brand's sizing aligns with standard US sizing. For model-specific community reports, use the RunSized tool.

The most accurate way to measure your foot for running shoes:
Once you have your measurement, remember that running shoes generally benefit from half a size of extra space — your feet swell during runs and your toes need room to splay.
Size charts give you a starting point — but they do not tell you how a specific shoe fits in practice. RunSized collects community reports from runners who have already bought the shoe you are considering. Enter the shoe you know fits and get real data on how the shoe you want to buy actually runs.

Find your size in any running shoeA US men's 10 is approximately EU 44. Note that EU sizing varies slightly between brands — some brands use 44, others 44.5 for the same US 10. Always check the specific brand's size chart for confirmation.
Women's US sizes typically run 1.5 sizes larger than men's. A women's US 9 is approximately a men's US 7.5. So to convert from women's to men's, subtract 1.5 from the women's US size.
For men's shoes, Australian sizes match US sizes exactly. For women's shoes, Australian sizing typically aligns with US sizing as well in most running shoe brands. However, always check the brand's own chart as there can be exceptions.
The conversion tables are the same — a EU 44 is a EU 44 in both running shoes and casual shoes. The difference is that runners commonly size up half a size to account for foot swelling during runs. So if your street shoe is a US 10, your running shoe might be a 10.5, even though the size chart conversion is the same.
